Food Traceability
What is Food Traceability?
Food Traceability is a risk-management tool which allows food business operators or authorities to withdraw or recall product which has been identified as unsafe.
Food Traceability has been a growing concern for decades with the outbreak of disease in animals that can be transmitted to humans, and the growing presence of chemicals all threatening both the quality and safety of products. With this in mind the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs issued their Growing Forward government funding program to help the Agriculture industry with the cost of implementing solutions to these growing issues.
